The Magnetic Contact Sensor is a 433MHz radio frequency fundamental component in wireless home security and automation systems. It is primarily used to monitor the open or closed status of doors, windows, gates, or drawers.

Unlike WiFi sensors that connect directly to a router, these devices operate on the 433MHz radio frequency, which offers excellent range and battery efficiency but typically requires an RF bridge or a compatible alarm panel to communicate with a smartphone app.
